Product name
FEP (F46, fluorinated ethylene propylene) heat shrink tubing. All sizes can be customised.
2. Properties and parameters
Volume resistivity >10¹⁸ Ω·m, surface resistance >10¹³ Ω; arc resistance >165 s; no current leakage; low friction (dynamic coefficient 0.2–0.3); non-stick, water- and oil-repellent (water contact angle θ = 114°); non-flammable in air (oxygen index >95 vol%). Shrink ratio 1.3:1 to 2:1, or non-shrink.
3. Features
Temperature resistance: FEP (F46) heat shrink tubing −200 to 200 °C; PFA heat shrink tubing −200 to 250 °C. Corrosion resistance: only elemental fluorine and alkali metals at high temperature react with it; it is unaffected by all other concentrated or dilute inorganic and organic acids, bases and esters.
4. Applications
FEP heat shrink tubing offers outstanding abrasion, chemical and high-temperature resistance, making it especially suitable for high-temperature applications such as insulating weld/solder joints, strain relief and colour-coding of covered components.
Sizes (heat shrink): diameter and wall thickness can be customised to customer requirements.
